Below, we’ve included our favorite tips for preventing the onset of arthritis or to help keep symptoms at bay, try a few of them out!

Maintain a Healthy Weight

Controlling your weight prevents achy joints and keeps you healthier overall. According to Johns Hopkins, if you’re 10 pounds overweight the force on your knee increased by 30-60 lbs. Try exercising for 30 minutes a day and opting for healthier meals.

Do Not Smoke

There are a multitude of reasons not to smoke, the health of your bones is only one of them! Smoking tobacco weakens your bones and puts you at an increased risk for osteoporosis and bone fracture.

Get Your Vitamin D

According to the National Institutes of Health, almost 60% of Americans are deficient in Vitamin D. Get your levels checked by a medical professional to determine if you need to intake additional Vitamin D.
