Meritage Medical Network Announces New CEO: Wojtek Nowak

Novato, California – January 6, 2016: Meritage Medical Network is pleased to announce that it has selected Mr. Wojtek Nowak for the position of Chief Executive Officer. Mr. Nowak will assume his new role on Monday, January 11.

Mr. Nowak, who is originally from Poland, possesses graduate level business degrees from the University of Economics in Katowice, Poland and the University of Southern California in Los Angeles, CA. He has over 20 years of broad healthcare management experience, encompassing finance, operations, contracting as well as strategy and business development. He has worked successfully with Medical Groups, IPA’s, and large integrated healthcare systems in both southern and northern California. Most recently, he worked with Sutter Health as Chief Financial Officer for East Bay Medical Foundation and Sutter Bay Division Revenue Cycle Leader. Says Mr. Nowak: “I am thrilled and feel honored to be joining Meritage and its very talented management team. Meritage Medical Network’s CEO of 15 years, Joel Criste, took a position with John Muir and UCSF’s Bay Area Accountable Care Network in July of 2015. The chair of the Meritage Medical Network Board and local Cardiologist, Mark Wexman, MD has served as Interim CEO while Meritage searched for a long term replacement. Says Dr. Wexman: “It has been my pleasure to serve Meritage as Interim CEO. Meritage is fortunate to have found such a bright, enthusiastic individual to lead Meritage forward through the dynamic healthcare landscape.
